College festivals bring in a cheerful vibe to the college campuses and excitement within the students. It is finally time for students to show their talent beyond their academic regime. However, the pandemic brought all activities to a halt and left students void of these experiences this year. Amid the gloom of the pandemic, how did students bring out their creativity to the world? Ishitwa, President of Terpsichorean, the dance society of Hansraj College talks to us about the newer ways her team took for expressing their art form of dancing. Recorded from the comfort of their home, the small group of students compiled a thematic dance film with a strong societal message. ‘Catharsis’, the name of the film, talks about the orthodox Indian communities where people are outcasted because of the choices regarding education, profession or marriage that do not reflect societal values and no value is given to individual thought processes. The online dance film has gone on to garner notable international and national achievements.
