The Modi-led government 2.0 will set up the National Sports Education Board under the Khelo India programme.
"To popularise sports at all levels, National Sports Education Board for development of sportspersons to be set up under Khelo India", said Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting the Union Budget 2019-20 in the Parliament.
A National Sports Education Board for Development of Sportspersons would be set up under Khelo India Scheme to popularize sports at all levels.
Appreciating the move, Achin Bhattacharyya, Founder & CEO, Notebook said, “Education is a much broader concept and should lead to all-round development of a student, hence the importance of sports can never be ignored, setting up of a National Sports Education Board for Development of Sportspersons under Khelo India Scheme is a welcome step”.
Khelo India programme is an initiative of the government to revive the sports culture in India at the grass-root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in our country and establish India as a great sporting nation.
