BITS Pilani And Mercedes-Benz India Launch Joint Research In AI And Electric Mobility

BITS Pilani has signed a five-year Master Research Agreement with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) to spearhead advanced technology research, aiming to establish a framework for joint R&D, focusing on generative AI, electric mobility and software development

BITS Pilani has signed a five-year Master Research Agreement with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India Private Limited for advanced technology research, aiming to build intellectual property in pioneering technology solutions and promote academic collaboration for higher education and projects.

The collaboration aims to explore and develop breakthrough technologies in the mobility sector, involving joint R&D projects, academic events, researcher-student exchanges, lab facilities sharing, advice, co-funding, publication and intellectual property protection.

The partnership between India's Ministry of Information Technology and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) aims to enhance digital capabilities in the country's talent pool through enhanced industry-academia collaboration, focusing on software development, data and AI, electric mobility and transformative technologies like generative AI.

Ramgopal Rao, Vice Chancellor, BITS Pilani said, “With the help of MBRDI's corporate experience and academic competence, we want to make ground-breaking discoveries that will benefit not just our institutions but society at large.”
