The NTA's JEE MAIN paper on April 4, 2024, was moderately difficult due to lengthy Maths questions. Physics and Chemistry were easier, while Mathematics was moderately difficult with lengthy and calculative questions. A detailed subject-wise analysis is provided for each paper. The paper follows the same level of difficulty as Phase 1.
Chemistry
The Chemistry paper was balanced in difficulty level and questions from three sections: Chemical Kinetics, Alcohol, Phenol and Ethers, Electrochemistry and Thermodynamics. P-block chemistry was dominant and the overall coverage was uniform. The paper was primarily based on NCERT books and included more questions from the 12th-class syllabus among 11th and 12th-class students.
Physics
The physics part was on easier side and questions from almost all the chapters were asked. Questions from Modern Physics, Mechanics, Electrostatics and Current electricity were there in the paper. The coverage of the questions was almost equal with more number of questions asked from 12th class.
Mathematics
The mathematics paper was moderate to difficult level. A good number of questions were asked from Calculus. Integer-type questions were lengthy in the paper. Almost all the topics were covered. The main thing is questions were both lengthy and calculative which took a lot of time to solve.
The paper was decent, with Mathematics being the toughest due to its lengthy part, with students identifying it as Mathematics > Chemistry > Physics.
