Amity University has signed a Technology Transfer Agreement with Inera Crop Sciences, an ESCO Global subsidiary, to transfer its technology, ‘Piriformospora Indica Obviates Extreme Temperature Stresses,’ to benefit farmers.
RK Kapoor, Officiating Registrar of Amity University and Dr Shivam Sharma, Director, Strategic Partnership, ESCO Global signed the agreement.
‘Piriformospora Indica Obviates Extreme Temperature Stresses’ is a unique fungus that promotes plant growth, enhances productivity, supports early flowering and controls plant diseases. Green-house experiments and field trials were conducted in various Indian regions, including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Delhi NCR and Rajasthan.
Dr Shivam Sharma, Director Strategic Partnership, ESCO Global, shared, “Our company is constantly on the lookout for solutions and alternatives to chemical fertilizers since chemicals are harmful for plants and also for the human body. Therefore, sustainable alternatives are highly beneficial for plant growth and increase crop yield, without harming the environment.”
