Amity University attended the 3rd India Space Congress (ISC) 2024, where it participated in one of the largest Space Conclaves, inaugurated by ISRO Chairman Dr S Somanath, who highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in driving space exploration's future.
Amity University showcased its advanced research and innovative products at ISC-2024. The university's booth, represented by M S Prasad and Dr Shivani Verma, showcased Project Divya Drishti, an AI-based detection system based on physiological parameters and AMISAT (3U-CUBESAT), a space science solution.
Dr Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group, has called on Amity`s faculty and researchers to augment the research and development efforts to contribute to India Space Mission and emerge as the no. 1 contributor to ISRO.
Deliberating upon Space Start-ups during a session on the “Space Startup Mixer Programme”, Dr Shivani Verma, Associate Professor, Amity Institute of Space Science and Technology, stated, “The government’s mission of ‘Aatmnirbhar Bharat’ has provided an impetus to the start-up ecosystem of the country and today India has emerged as the 3rd largest ecosystem for startups globally. The government is taking a lot of initiatives to support start-ups and encourage entrepreneurship.”
ISC-2024 has helped Amity University establish strategic industry-academia partnerships with emerging space and defense startups like Elena Geo System, Newspace System and Galaxy Eye.
These partnerships enhance research and development, providing students and researchers with practical engagement and innovation opportunities. Amity University representatives from various campuses, including Dr W Selvamurthy, DG ADSI & President, Amity Science Technology & Innovation Foundation (ASTIF), Dr Neeraj Sharma, Dr Sunil Khatri, and P B Sharma, participated.
