Amit Mehta Joins upGrad As CHRO

upGrad, India's integrated learning, skilling and workforce development company, has named Amit Mehta as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Mehta will formally assume the role on 8 October 2024.

Following a career at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), where he served in various HR leadership roles, Mehta will lead upGrad's people strategy globally, driving organisation effectiveness, talent development and performance management initiatives. 

Before joining upGrad, Mehta was heading the HR function for HUL's Home Care division and drove strategic talent development and growth interventions as talent & organisation director for Unilever's South Asia markets. His expertise spans HR Business Partnership for HUL's Sales & Marketing functions, strategic advisory as Chief of Staff to the CHRO and crafting people strategies for Unilever's India, Sri Lanka and European markets.

He holds an MBA in HR from XLRI Jamshedpur and a BTech in Information Technology from VJTI Mumbai. Mehta stated, “I look forward to working with the team at upGrad and leverage my expertise to foster a progressive culture that drives engagement and innovation to make a positive difference to the learners in India and across the world.”
