The constant technological evolution is playing a significant role in developing the education system in India. Robotics in education is another revolutionary learning poised to change the teaching and learning space. In an enthusiastic leap toward this disparity, Aditya Birla World Academy (ABWA) inaugurated Robotics Laboratory - ‘Binary Bolts’ on Thursday.
Positioned to be the first in South Mumbai, the ABWA’s Robotics Lab is likely to establish a milestone, offering students access to technology and hands-on exploration.
Stressing on the centre principal Radhika Sinha said, “The ABWA Robotics Lab embodies our commitment to providing a dynamic and innovative learning environment, reflecting our dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in the rapidly evolving landscape of the 21st century".
Sinha told BW Education that our vision is to introduce skill-building at the grassroots level and we want to fuel the curiosity that kids have and look forward to imbibing technological learning among students at an early age from 10 to 12 years.
“We have been teaching coding, drone making, aero modeling and 3D printing to our students for a few years now, which have been a part of our extracurricular activities, but with the new lab, we are inviting all schools and students to share the platform for learning and innovation.”
Adding on Sinha shared this paradigm shift is supported by Neerja Birla, Founder and Chairperson, Aditya Birla Education Trust. She is very progressive in her approach and is happy to facilitate students with the ‘Robotics Laboratory’ as she believes in innovative teaching practices.
Binary Bolts’ outreach programme - Rocket Didi
ABWA Binary Bolts outreach programme includes - Rocket Didi, an initiative for female students to actively participate in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). This programme will underscore the capabilities of young girls in pursuing careers in technology and robotics, contributing to the development of strong women leadership across industry sectors.
ABWA’s emphasis on STEM
Binary Bolts is aimed at advancing STEM education at ABWA. This centre is strategically designed to spark students' creativity, foster critical thinking and enhance problem-solving skills. The move is to provide students with robotics tools and resources and prepare them for future challenges, emphasising the imperative of technological literacy and proficiency in an ever-evolving digital world.
