4th Edition Of Udaan Utsav At IGNCA Culminated Today With An Overwhelming Joy & Happiness

The 4th edition of cultural festival - UDAAN UTSAV 2019 culminated successfully today at Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi. The Utsav which was inaugurated by Actor, Singer, Politician & MP - Mr. Manoj Tiwari drew huge crowd and stood abuzz with students. The students showcased creative talents & skills in Street Play, dance, music, creative writing, visual art and film submission. The energy & enthusiasm amongst the students kept the spirit of our rich & varied culture. The day ended by live music performances by the college students.

The highlight of the 2nd day of Udaan Utsav was photography competitions by the differently abled students.

The 3rd and the final day began with the beautiful Bollywood tracks sung at IGNCA by renowned singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya who was the present there to support the Utsav. Another attraction of this day was 48-Hour Film Project which challenged the students to conceive, create, and submit a 4 to 7 minute movie in 48-hours. The last day of the Utsav was full of youthful vibrancy and zeal that witnessed splendid performances along with awaited results.

“Our youth has so much diverse talent in so many areas of performing arts is a pleasant surprise. All we need is a platform to provide encouragement and support. The three-day Udaan Utsav experience has been a joyous one", said Mr. Anupam Bhatnagar, President, UDAAN.

Commenting on the culmination of the Utsav, Mr. Sumit Maluja, Convenor, UDAAN, said, “The lament that our youth is getting too much influenced by the western culture, is getting alienated from our tradition, and traditional arts, and is heard far too often. But the enthusiasm with which young boys and girls participated was reassuring. The state and other non-governmental agencies should actively contribute to expand horizons of youth through art and culture”.

We are satisfied with the journey of UDAAN- from one vertical of Nukkad Natak in 2016 to 14 in 2019. Udaan has helped hundreds of students to express their talents in diverse fields of art and culture. Many young artists have been picked up by renowned names in the fields. The objective of Udaan is not only to encourage talented professional artists but to encourage patriotism and nationalism through art and culture, said Ms. Prerna Malhotra, Co-Convenor, UDAAN on celebrating the successful conclusion of the 4th edition of Udaan Utsav.

The day ended with prize distribution in all the 14 fields. It was a gala evening for all the people present at IGNCA.
