Prof Saranjit Singh Joins As VC Of KIIT

Prof (Dr) Saranjit Singh has been appointed as the new vice chancellor of KIIT Deemed to be University. With a career spanning over 26 years in academia and his prior role as the Pro Vice Chancellor, the institute shows confidence in his leadership to steer Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) to greater accomplishments.

Prof Sasmita Samanta, who served as vice chancellor of KIIT has been relieved from her post. Over the years, apart from her service at KIIT, she founded an IT solutions company. As per the institution, balancing the dual responsibilities became challenging, leading to her resignation. Her decision was made in the best interest of KIIT and it has been accepted by the chancellor of KIIT Deemed to be University.

The university has global affiliations including accreditations from bodies like the ABET, USA and the IET, UK. Twenty faculty members from the KIIT family have been recognised among the World’s Top 2 per cent scientists, as curated by Stanford University, USA.
