PGDM Business Management Programme Organises Leadership ‘Samvaad’

PGDM-Business Management programme (erstwhile NMP) organised ‘Samvaad’ at MDI Gurgaon a business colloquium that helds annually to sharing ideas among leaders from various domains across the country and focuses on providing a unique opportunity to the participants to gain insights into strategy, leadership and innovation.  

Every year, the panels host industry stalwarts, leading entrepreneurs, leadership gurus and academicians who share their valuable insights with the participants 

“Think big, have a vision and execute those dreams,” said Rajesh Magow at the event who  known as the dynamic helmsman of MakeMyTrip. Gopal Sikder, a torchbearer at Reliance Industries Ltd. Said “Leadership is of the people, for the people, and by the people." 

The 7th Edition of Samvaad 2023 revolved around the theme "Transitioning India from Growth Leader to World Leader," that aimed at exploring the pivotal role of leadership, innovation, and collaboration in India's journey toward global prominence. The symposium was graced by distinguished leaders- Rajesh Magow, Co-founder & Group CEO of MakeMyTrip and Gopal Chandra Sikder, Senior Executive Vice President at Reliance Industries Limited. Sikder is also an alumnus of MDI PGDM-BM programme.  

Magow’s uplifting words paved the path for thought-provoking discussions ahead. His insights into India's journey towards global leadership stirred inspiration and were backed by comparative economic analysis. He emphasised continuous reform, effective leadership and robust foreign relations will propel India's trajectory to success.  

Sikder remarked “A country gets the emblem of World leadership provided they have systematically established fundamental requirements for their fellow citizens.” The valedictory session was conducted by Veer Sagar, Chairman of Selectronic. The event was also graced by Prof. Sangeeta Shah Bhardwaj (Acting Director of MDI), Prof. Sumita Rai (Dean-IC), Prof. Chinmaya Kulshrestha (Lead-EGP & Lead-Marketing Area) and Prof. Shiv S Tripathi (Faculty In-charge, PGDM-BM).   

The audience experienced four panel discussions on cutting-edge domains. Each discussion was moderated by a faculty member, followed by a Q&A session. Samvaad commenced with a panel on "Embracing Digital Ventures for Market Expansion."  

The esteemed panellists included Saurabh Bhandari (Sr. Product Manager, Accenture UK), Nimisha Singh (CPG & Retail Head, Google Cloud), Namrata Nath (Head of Field Marketing, Exotel), Deepanshu Sachdeva (Regional Lead, Aon) & Amitesh Srivastava (Customer Strategy, Process & Salesforce Practice Leader, IBM). The discussion was moderated by Dr. Anurag Singh Chauhan, Assistant Professor, MDI Gurgaon.  

The panel 2 unveiled the path to "Unlocking India's Sustainable Finance & Investment Future." The panellists included: Abhishek Kumar (Consulting Principal, S&P Global), Shantanu Srivastava, CFA (Sustainable Finance & Climate Risk Lead, IEEFA), Rohit Kumar (Partner, Corporate Finance, Deloitte), Dharmender Jhamb (Partner Business Consulting, Grant Thornton Bharat LLP), Sishir Garemella (Clean Energy/Climate Finance Leader). It was moderated by Dr. S Veena Iyer, Associate Professor, MDI Gurgaon. And another panel "Leveraging Analytics to Drive HR Strategy." The panellists included: Bineet Ranjan (Data Scientist, Senior MTS, Paypal), Shivani Singh (Head HR, Premas Biotech), Gandharvi Nadkarni (Director, Expedia Group), Abhishek Tiwary, SHRM-SCP, GPHR (Senior VP/HR, Tech Mahindra). The panel was moderated by Prof. Ajay K. Jain, Professor, MDI Gurgaon. The dynamic forum was concluded with Panel #4 discussion on “Transitioning Into Industry 5.0” The eminent panellists included: Ramesh Kumar (Director, eugine.ai), Puneet Gupta (Director, S&P Global), Gaurav Bhandari (Associate Director, Deloitte), Amarpreet Singh (Founder, Chaabi). It was guided by the insightful moderation of Dr. Narain Gupta, Professor, MDI Gurgaon. 

The event was concluded with a Musical Event as an endeavour to celebrate the diverse cultures. Samvaad 2023, as intended, served as a platform for sharing ideas, exchanging perspectives and igniting conversations that hold the potential to shape the future of business and leadership in our nation.
