IIMA Launches Online MBA

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) recently announced the launch of its new two-year Online MBA programme - a degree-granting post-graduate programme designed for working professionals and entrepreneurs with a minimum work experience of 3 years, who seek to strike a balance between the pressures of their work life and their professional aspirations.

The Online MBA programme is a blended (hybrid) programme that combines on-campus and in-person sessions. It will primarily be delivered in an online synchronous mode, suitably complemented through five distinct on-campus modules. In tune with the IIMA pedagogy, the programme will follow a case-based approach that focuses on applied learning. 

During the launch, Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIMA, stated that students’ opting for the Online MBA programme will not be offered any placement opportunities. He was responding to a question posed by BW Education in this regard. 

“IIMA offers a programme that allows students to join while working, transforming and enhancing their capabilities. The programme does not offer placements or promote them, but rather focuses on transforming them. Students can form their networks and groups, and IIMA supports career advancement. The institute aims to create awareness about transition transformation and encourages graduates to take on more challenging responsibilities.
“If students want to take placement activities independently, they can promote their profiles and extend resources. The institute does not actively promote placements, but the choice of the candidate depends on their age and aspirations,” He said. 

Working professionals and entrepreneurs with a minimum of three years of full-time work experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent can apply to the programme. The admissions will be based on an admission test (IIMA Admission Test (IAT)/ CAT/ GMAT/GRE) and a personal interview.
