IIIT-B Professor Wins Young Engineers Award

Madhav Rao, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B) has been conferred with Prof. Satish Dhawan Young Engineers State Award in the field of Engineering Sciences for the year 2023. This award, instituted by the Government of Karnataka, recognises outstanding contributions in the field of Engineering Sciences.

The honour was bestowed upon Madhav Rao by Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, at a ceremony held at J.N. Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science Campus, Bengaluru on September 26, 2024. Distinguished guests, including C.N.R. Rao, Bharat Ratna; N. S. Boseraju, Minister for Minor Irrigation, Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, and Ekroop Caur (IAS), Secretary, Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology (E, IT, BT and S&T), Government of Karnataka, graced the occasion.

The Prof. Satish Dhawan Young Engineers Award is given annually to engineers below 50 years of age who have made significant contributions to Engineering Sciences. This award is a testament to Madhav Rao's dedication to his field and his commitment to advancing engineering education.
