IILM Holds Annual Convocation 2018

The IILM Annual PGDM Convocation for the Class of 2018, held at the Lodhi Road campus, was for all the three campuses of IILM – IILM Institute for Higher Education, Lodhi Road; IILM Institute for Business and Management, Gurgaon and IILM Graduate School of Management, Greater Noida.

The Chief Guest at the event was Mr. Rajeev Dubey, Group President (HR & Corporate Services) & CEO (After-Market Sector), Member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. He shared his thoughts on creating tomorrow’s leaders through 3 + 5 method. He spoke about the three attitudes that are important - accept no limits; do the alternative thinking and; drive positive change. Then he talked about what he believed were the five critical behaviors of leaders - ability to use the whole mind by integrating the left with the right brain; be a multiplier which means do more with less; manage fear and leverage failure; mindfulness which means being open to the possibilities that exist in every moment; create an atmosphere of trust. 

Dubey is a Member of the Governing Board of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Geneva, and serves on the Boards of the International Organization of Employers (IOE), Geneva and the International Training Centre of the ILO, Turin, Italy. He is also a core member of the Council of Global Advisors of the Yale School of Management (Yale SOM) and is the immediate Past President of the National Human Resource Development Network (NHRDN), and the Employers’ Federation of India (EFI). 

During the convocation, Diplomas and Certificates of Merit were awarded by Mrs. Malvika Rai, Chairperson, IILM Institute for Higher Education and by the Directors of the three campuses to 354 students of the PG class of 2018. Malvika Rai presented the Dr. Kulwant Rai Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to the meritorious students as well as to the overall performers.  Faculty members were felicitated by Dr. P. Malarvizhi, Controller & Dean, IILM University, Gurugram and Best Teacher’s awards were given to six faculty members, two from each campus. 

Vikram Manocha, Talent Acquisition Head, India, Amazon, who is an IILM alumnus, Class of 1997, was felicitated. He addressed the gathering and spoke about his experience in the corporate world said, “I have learned more from my failure and failures are more important.”
