Shandar Ahmad is a professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and a nominated visiting scientist at National Institute of Biomedical Innovation, Health, and Nutrition(NIBIOHN), Japan. He has earlier held faculty positions in Universiti Putra Malaysia, NIBIOHN, Osaka University and Jamia Millia Islamia. He is a highly cited research scientist with interests in data-driven biology/ bioinformatics and machine learning applications. He doubles up as a poet in Urdu and English.
