Pedagogies In New Era Of Education

In 2020, not did the world see a life-altering pandemic, but gave the human race offbeat ways of learning and adapting to unprecedented times. In fact, the education system saw a revolution while coming forth in this emerging era creating a paradigm shift for the learners in the coming generation. Furthermore, in the current, fast-paced and continually developing world, there is a pressing need for a knowledge-based society. In such an environment, it is the duty of an educational institution to ensure that the youth receive knowledge which is updated and in accordance to the  evolutions in the industry. Today’s generation needs to be guided on how to pursue the continual development of new knowledge, its management and application in order to navigate this world at the same pace. Listed below are the pedagogies that this novel era of education, the system should adopt and impart for students to be industry-ready.

Guide to streamline information: When students are prepared to make ready for a job and face all kinds off challenges in the real world, it is the teachers’ and institutions’ role that plays a major role. The teachers should therefore start teaching the students on how to analyze a particular subject they intend to skill themselves in. An outline of entire procedure basis the analysis should be put down and further the focus area must be identified by the students (with teacher’s help). Fragmentation of the procedure and prioritization should be taught so the end result is achieved as desired. The teachers should also include ways of evaluation processes so the students understand what and how to find the correct answers for the applied knowledge and progress in the most dynamic point of learning in history. 

Operational practicing: While theoretical learning is important for students to refer and read when required. It is vital for the educators and the institutions to create and provide a platform to the students for application of their knowledge and thoroughly practice it to assess how it can lead to opportunities in future. This also stimulates students to perform their extra-curricular skills, critically think, use relevant information that is widely available on the internet, and learn how to deal with scenarios individually and as a team. During the operational practices, some students also get inspired and set in motion a disruptive business idea with their leadership and enthusiasm for entrepreneurism. This helps them assimilate discipline in themselves as well as their peers.

Phygital sustenance: Digital education has seen acceptance across the globe, yet there are fields which require a physical environment in the process of teaching and learning. It is then that the authorities create a roadmap to sustain those subjects while not giving up on the physical aspect. A blended approach of physical and digital is the key to sustenance in skilling the future workforce whilst ensuring flexibility in learning. In the coming days, it should be possible for students to learn anytime and anywhere. This is possible through elements like recorded  lectures and creating an e-library for the academic year, collaborative approach as an educational resource via webinars, live lectures with industry leaders and renowned organizations, etc.

This three-fold approach is strategic for varsities to accomplish developing modules and constant updates for both teachers and students to stay relevant in the area of practice. HEIs are also encouraged to apply new accreditation methodologies, learning analytics and non- formal online learning which will enable education for all. These emerging new pedagogies will have a greater impact on both, our teaching practices and the students’ learnings, while incorporating the cross-curriculum approach.
