IIT-Delhi Reopens GATE 2020 Registration For Jammu And Kashmir Candidates

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi has opened the application portal of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2020 for students belonging from Jammu and Kashmir.

The institute said due to the lockdown in the state, there were many who were unable to apply for the entrance examination scheduled to be held in February. Therefore, the exam conducting body, IIT Delhi, has decided to re-open the portal.

“A large number of candidates (9295) from the state has already applied for GATE 2020. However, as per emails and phone calls received from a few candidates regarding the unavailability of internet connectivity, it seems that a few hundred aspirants of GATE 2020 in Jammu and Kashmir might not have been able to apply. Keeping this in view, the GATE committee has decided to re-open the application process from October 30 to November 8, 2019,” said IIT-Delhi in a press release.

The GATE aspirants can apply by visiting the official website, gate.iitd.ac.in. GATE 2020 will be held on February 1, 2, 8 and 9, 2020.

Meanwhile, the rest of the applicants can also make changes in the exam city allotted to them till November 15, however, an additional fee will be applicable. The application process, including the late fee, has been closed. GATE 2020 admit card will be released on January 3, 2020, as per the official notification.
