The convocation highlighted the academic accomplishments of students hailing from Angola, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Namibia, Lesotho, Cameroon, Malawi, Congo DRC, Equatorial Guinea, Mongolia, Nigeria, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uzbekistan, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Vice Chancellor Kim Menezes inaugurated the ceremony, commending the students for their successful completion of their academic journey at the university. The event was graced by Chief Guest Puneet Roy Kundal, IFS, Additional Secretary from the Ministry of External Affairs, Eastern and Southern Africa Division.
Distinguished dignitaries including Muhammad Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano and Presidential Candidate for Nigeria, Mai Mala Buni, Governor of Yobe, Nigeria and Comrade Nasir Idris, Governor of Kebbi, Nigeria, delivered congratulatory messages, adding to the significance of the occasion.
