Clinical Psychology, B.A Applied Psychology and M.Sc. Clinical Psychology, M.A Applied Psychology, M.A Counselling psychology and Post Graduate diploma in Counselling psychology courses respectively. Duration: The duration of the UG course is 3 years and the PG course is 2 years and Post graduate Diploma course is of 1 year.

Information about the curriculum

  • Applied Psychology: - Psychology is study of behavior and mental processes and /or functions. While basis psychology focuses on general principles of human behavior and experience, applied psychology uses basic psychological theories and principles to solve practical problems of various aspects of our everyday life.
  • Clinical Psychology: - Clinical psychology is an integration of science, theory and clinical knowledge for the purpose of understanding, preventing, and relieving psychologically based distress or dysfunction and promoting subjective well – being and personal development. It is branch of psychology that uses psychological assessment and interventions for diagnosing and treating mental, emotional and behavioral disorders.
  • Counseling Psychology: - Counseling psychology is a specialty within professional psychology that maintains a focus on facilitating personal and interpersonal functioning across the life span. The specialty provides assessment, diagnosis and counseling for emotional, social, vocational, educational, health-related, developmental, and organizational concerns.

  2. PG- M.A Applied Psychology/M.A Counselling Psychology/M.Sc. Clinical Psychology/ PG Diploma in Counselling Psychology 60 seats available in each program. 
  3. M.Phil Clinical Psychology 8 seats are available. 

Selection process

  1. UG - Selection process includes the uploading of one minute Statement of Purpose video.
  2. PG – Candidates are required to appear for PI either through Skype or at Campus.
  3. M.Phil - Written test followed by Personal interview

Job prospects:

  1. Students get placed in healthcare, primarily in offices of mental health practitioners, physicians, outpatient mental health & substance abuse centers, & private hospitals.
  2. Educational institutions also employed a substantial number of psychologists in positions other than teaching, such as counseling, testing, research & administration.
  3. Government agencies at the state and local levels employed psychologists in public hospitals, clinics, correctional facilities & other settings.
  4. After several years of experience some psychologist- usually those with doctoral degree-enter private practice or set up private research or consulting firms.
  5. In addition to the previously mentioned jobs, many psychologists held faculty positions at colleges and universities and as high school psychology teachers.

Many psychologists work in research positions in various subfields of psychology. Some additional areas of employment include positions in industrial-organizations psychology & human factor psychology. Other psychologists work in business as managers, consultant and marketing research.
