Tips To Crack CAT Exam This Year

The most prominent management test, Common Admission Tests (CAT), is all set to be held on 29 November 2017. As much as 2.31 lakh candidates have registered for the exam this year to secure an admission into the MBA programme of the IIMs and other top-notch business schools. Out of the above huge number, only a few thousand will actually ring the bell.

The number of registrations have decreased over the years, however, the craziness to reach the destination is invincible. No matter how hard you have studied, there is no assurance of cracking the exam with good percentile. When you sit for an exam under pressure, it will affect your performance.

Here are a few tips for the aspirants who are waiting for the D-Day and want to crack the test.

1. Time Management Is The Key To Success

Prepare a time-table, properly dedicating slots to different subjects and stick to the same till the exam ends. During the exam also, managing time will decrease your stress and increase your speed to solve the paper quickly.  With 60 minutes allotted for each section, during CAT test duration, one should prioritise the questions which can be solved quickly.

2. Accuracy

While time management is important to increase the percentile during the test, asserting the accuracy is even more important to win the score.

However, don't ever touch the question with a doubt because a wrong answer will result in negative marking which will eventually end up in causing double loss. CAT has a negative marking pattern with three marks awarded for every right answer and one mark deducted for every wrong answer.

3. Keep Calm

You will never win the race if you will give a boost up in the last days of preparation. So keep calm and relax just before the test starts. Go for an early meditation which will keep your body and mind calm.

4. Attempt Mock Test

With few days left for the test, try to attempt at least two mock tests in a day to measure the score, speed, negative points and so on.

5. Be on Time

We Indians have a habit of never being on time. Reaching the venue late will unnecessarily lead to more tension. Moreover, if selected, you will going to be the leader after getting admission in a top business school. Why not start from the exam only?
