The School of Design and Innovation at RV University hosted a student-led exhibition, ‘Design for Justice’ on May 10-12, 2024, at the Chitrakala Parishath in Bengaluru, focusing on the potential of design for social change.
‘Design for Justice' showcased the work of B.Des and M.Des students who tackled societal and environmental issues through design. Their innovative solutions addressed marginalised communities, sustainability and digital equality, exemplifying design's power as a catalyst for positive change.
The ‘Design for Justice’ exhibition was more than a display of student work; recognising the potential of design to shape experiences, interactions and even societal systems, SDI encourages students to grapple with complex issues facing our communities. This exhibition was the culmination of rigorous research, empathetic exploration and a determination to use design as a catalyst for change.
‘Design for Justice’ aimed to leave a lasting impact on attendees, inspiring them to consider design's role in their own lives and communities. Whether you're a designer, student or simply a concerned citizen, this exhibition challenged you to rethink what design can accomplish.
