NIIT University (NU), established with a vision to bring about innovation in higher education and learning in developing sectors of the information society, held its 11th Convocation Ceremony online, in accordance with the government's safety regulations for the COVID-19 pandemic. Graduating students and their parents, current students, industry executives, distinguished visitors, and faculty members all attended the Virtual Convocation Ceremony.
NIIT University (NU), one of India's greenest and most environmentally friendly campuses, is ideally positioned to address the increasing demands of the knowledge economy, thanks to its emphasis on creating strong research skills and building appropriate industrial links. NU is conceived of as an institution of excellence, providing excellent education based on four Core Principles that make learning industry-connected, technology-based, research-driven, and seamless. In the 18 months following the pandemic, as we have been pushed into a world where technology has become the mainstay, NU has focused on holistic learning while keeping students up to date on technical developments.
At 11 a.m., the convocation ceremony began. Prof. Rajesh Khanna, President of NIIT University, and Dr Arunabha Ghosh, Chief Executive Officer of the Council on Energy, Environment, and Water (CEEW), Chief Guest at the event, presented each graduate with a degree certificate. On this occasion, Dr Ghosh addressed the pupils.
At the 11th convocation event, 264 students were handed degree certificates after successfully completing various programmes. Students who were eligible and opted in for placements at NU were placed with prominent businesses such as IBM, CISCO, EY, Morgan Stanley, and Big Basket, to mention a few.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rajendra S Pawar, Founder, NU and Chairman, NIIT Ltd. said, “I heartily congratulate all the students and wish them tremendous success in the future. I am convinced that the industry-relevant and research-based education they received at the University will guide them throughout their lives. The lessons they learned at NU will help them stand tall even in times of crisis.”
