A team of students from the Department of Automobile Engineering FET, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies secured 2nd position in the EV Skill Development Programme Competition. The five-member team comprising of Nikhil Singh, Gaurang Tomar, Aayush Sadija, Shubham Thakur, Gaurav Saxena with faculty advisor Dr Devendra Vashist were felicitated for their innovative work on ' 'Power Train Design of Electric Vehicle', in a grand ceremony that took place at the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) Centre 2, IMT Manesar, Gurugram, Haryana.
The award was conferred by Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey, Union Minister for Heavy Industries; Sh. Krishan Pal Gurjar, MoS Heavy Industries; Shri Kamran Rizvi, Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries; Dr Hanif Qureshi (Auto), Joint Secretary, MHI; Shri Saurabh Dalela, Director ICAT & Sunjay Kapoor, President Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA). More than 1700 Indian auto companies were present during the ceremony. The event was organized by Mathworks (Makers of MATLAB and Simulink) in association with ICAT through their Aspire Programme. A total of 350 participants from 76 teams including students from IITs and NITs participated in the event.
To prepare for the competition, the teams underwent a skill-based training of four months from October 2022 to January 2023 on MATLAB and Simulink where each member of the team completed three basic courses.
