JMI Professor, Nobel Laureate Jointly Publish Photonic Integrated Circuitry Research

Dr Prabhash Mishra, Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), has jointly published a paper with Nobel Laureate Professor Sir Kostya Novoselov. The paper titled “van der Waals Materials for Overcoming Fundamental Limitations in Photonic Integrated Circuitry” was published in the prestigious Nano Letters journal.

Sir Novoselov is a Russian-British physicist who received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2010 for his work on graphene. He is a professor at the Centre for Advanced 2D Materials, National University of Singapore and the Langworthy Professor in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Manchester.

Dr Mishra is the group leader at Quantum Materials and Devices Laboratory (QMD Lab), Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JMI. He completed his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof S.S Islam, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JMI. He has worked in various capacities in major global institutions that include the National Tsing Hua University Taiwan (Researcher); Samara State Aerospace University, Russia (Senior Scientist); IMDEA Nanoscience, Madrid, Spain (investigator); Moscow institute and Physics and Technology, Moscow, Russia (Senior Researcher) and others. Dr Mishra has an impeccable research record that includes more than seventy papers published in reputed international journals, two US and four Indian granted patents and one technology developed in JMI. His research is primarily focused on Quantum materials, Optoelectronics and gas sensors.
