IIT Mandi

CHCi aims to create an ecosystem supporting research, industry, start-ups and skill development by implementing innovation-led initiatives to address real-life problems across major industrial sectors. The centre will develop certification programmes in Human-Computer Interaction, followed by degree programmes, to create a skilled pool of professionals in the interdisciplinary field of HCi.

The Centre for Human-Computer Interaction, established by the Technology Innovation Hub and IIT Mandi has attended by prominent figures from the Department of Science and Technology, the Government of India, academia and industry.

The Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) at IIT Mandi aims to establish a world-class centre for Human-Computer Interaction science and technology. The CHCi ecosystem will promote excellence in translational research, leading to products and platforms that could address national priorities and yield significant breakthroughs.

The Centre will focus on various areas of Human-Computer Interaction (HCi), including assistive technologies, experience technologies, device-led technologies, brain-computer interaction and creative design, supported by state-of-the-art facilities over 2200 square feet, fostering innovation and talent development in HCI.

The CHCi, part of the Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Mandi, aims to accelerate translational research and reach industry sectors by leveraging existing resources and engineering research talent. It collaborates with industry leaders to address industry-specific problem statements effectively, bridging the gap between academia and industry.
