According to the survey conducted by Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) under its healthcare committee has found that nearly 68 percent of school children under the age of 13 years may suffer from mild back aches, develop into chronic pain and hunchbacks.

“Several recommendations were given by parents to ease the children’s school back packs, which is also a long-standing demand of both, the parents and students. All the recommendations will be considered and the decision will be taken soon”, the official said.

A board of education, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) also gave some proposals likewise to follow flexible timetable, install RO for water and allow students to wear sports shoes. The plan is still introductory and still requires more discussion. All the stakeholders will be consulted before finalizing this decision, the official said. Every region will possess the pilot project. Based on the outcome and experience of the experiment, the ministry will take a call next year.

The CBSE has asked the schools to ensure that students do not carry books up to class 2. It has also restricted to carry books till class 8.

By incorporating the use of tablets in schools the students will be able to learn more which will also reduce the weight of their school bag. Also the utilization of tablets will enhance technical skills among the students.
