We Should Have ‘Incubator-driven’ And ‘Alumni-driven’ B-Schools: Dhruv Nath, Professor, MDI Gurgaon & Director, Lead Angels Network

Dhruv Nath, Professor, MDI Gurgaon & Director, Lead Angels Network has put forth the idea of creating new business schools that are ‘incubator-based’ and ‘alumni-driven’. He said, “These two are concepts of what future business schools should look like. To involve the faculty, they should also take an equity stake in one of more companies.” “Students learn the most during their summer internship and from light industry projects,” Nath said.

Elaborating further on the ideas, Nath stated, “First is ‘incubator-driven’ b-schools where the students are mandatorily involved through ‘pre-incubators’, which will be graded. The second concept is ‘alumni-driven’ business school where the current studying students will be doing mandatory and graded live projects with the alumni’s start-ups.”

Nath was speaking at the virtual Future of Management Education Conclave organized by BW Education where he shared missing links between management education and entrepreneurship. With his vast personal and professional experience in the field of management education, he stated ‘entrepreneurship can’t be learned in a classroom’. “One can only learn by dirtying hands and investing money,” he stated.
