After a series of editions of the cultural fests, UDAAN (Unfolding Drama and Acts for Nation) is all set to raise the curtains yet once again and unveil the 5th edition of its cultural festival - Udaan Utsav 2020. The festival is scheduled to be held on 4th, 5th and 6th of March at Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi. The fifth edition of Udaan Utsav is expected to witness participation from more than 3,000 students from around 80 colleges and 8 universities, who will be showcasing their creative talents.
UDAAN is a good platform for millennials to showcase their talents and explore their potential, thus providing them a conducive environment to nurture, grow and excel. The three day event will center around four major themes such as ‘Digital World – Old vs New’, ‘Jai Jawan- Jai Kisan’, ‘Celebration of Womanhood’ and ‘Inspirational Unsung Heroes.’
Speaking about the upcoming event, Sumit Maluja, Convenor of UDAAN, said," The objective of UDAAN is to tap the talent among the youth of our Nation, sensitize them about our contemporary issues and make them aware about rich cultural diversity we have. Udaan Utsav provides a platform to express these issues through creative talents”.
He further added that “the festival in the last four years has progressed to competitions in various verticals and a major jump in number of participants and audience firmly establishes it as the one of biggest youth festivals in Delhi & NCR. We organize mentoring workshops all-round the year to enhance the talents of our youth”.
The fest will have numerous competitions to be held across 9 verticals - Street Play, Poster Making, Solo Singing, Painting, Folk (Group) Dance, On the spot writing, Storytelling, 48 hour Film Making Challenge and Photography. The winners will get prize money and other amazing prizes.
Udaan Utsav will start from March 4 and will go on till March 6, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at IGNCA, New Delhi.
Eminent personalities such as Prof Geeta Bhatt, NCWEB Director, Lokesh Sachdeva, Educationist and Social Activist, Manoj Arora, Businessman and Social Activist, Pragya Aggarwal, Founder of Dance institute for under privileged, and many more will be sharing their presence at the fest. The fervor and ardor of the festival is likely to be witnessed by an audience base of nearly 20,000 spread across three days of festivities.
Some of the well-known celebrities such as Anupam Kher, Anu Malik, Pallavi Joshi, Vivek Agnihotri, Manoj Tiwari, Padmashri Malini Awasthy, Ravi Kishan, Manoj Joshi, Nitish Bhardwaj, Gajendra Chauhan, Sonal Mansingh, Padmashri Nila Madhav Panda, Victor Banerjee, Mukesh Khanna and Sandeep Marwah, etc. has been associated with Udaan Utsav and provided mentorship to the youth from time to time.
