Excellence, Exploration And Excitement Will Change The Course Of Education

The second session was around the theme ‘Technology Interventions for Innovations in Higher Education.’ The session was chaired by Prof V. Venkata Ramana, Vice Chairman, Telangana State Council of Higher Education and the keynote speaker was Shri. Jayesh Ranjan IAS, Principal Secretary, IT & ITES, Industries & Commerce Dept., Government of Telangana. The eminent panel for this session consisted of Dr D N RAO , President, Vignana Jyothi Group of Institutions, Hyderabad; Amit Chaudhary , CEO , Peoplelink, Hyderabad; Nitin Barman, COO, Univariety, Hyderabad; Hemant Sahal, CEO and Founder , Collpoll, Bengaluru and Sarvagya Mishra, Co-Founder, Pinnacle Works, Gurgaon.

Dr. D N Rao initiated the discussion by stating that education should be made a package of Presence, Sense, Experience, and Extrapolation. He also mentioned that the Happiness and Innovation Index rank of our country which has come down by 10 ranks can be improved by working on the education system. Furthermore, he talked about building a spectral pyramid comprising of 3E’s- Excellence in Academics, Exploration of knowledge through research and Excitement for Innovation and entrepreneurship. Amit Chowdhry, on the other hand, focus on how AI and IoT can be used together to create a platform for the education sector. He favoured the creation of ecosystem for a better understanding of educational institutions.

The rest of the panelists focussed on the importance of technology in today’s education sector. Hemant Sahal stated that technology which is used for empowering education can bring efficiency in this sector and also help the educational institutions in taking decisions. He further mentioned that the ease of doing business is the main motto of technology. While Amit Chowdry talked about how technology makes teaching omnipresent in an asynchronous and synchronous way, Sarvagya Mishra discussed the use of technology in democratization of knowledge.
