Delhi NCR-based edtech SaaS soonicorn Classplus has launched Polaris School of Technology (PST). The college will offer a four-year BTech programme, combining classroom learning with hands-on experience.
PST aims to bridge the gap between industry needs and job readiness for BTech graduates. The curriculum will include computer science, artificial intelligence and machine learning. The faculty will include IIT alumni, tech leaders, CTOs and founders.
In addition to providing a traditional university experience, PST will provide students with flexible access to leading global technology companies for internships and Industry experience. ClassPlus also plans to boost entrepreneurship skills through its in-house incubator programme, Polaris Tech Combinator, enabling students to launch and pitch their tech startups, with the potential to raise up to Rs 8.2 Lakh (around $10K) in seed funding.
Founded by Mukul Rustagi and Bhaswat Agarwal, ClassPlus is an edtech platform designed to help educators expand their coaching business online and enhance student learning outcomes. The company claims to have digitised teachers in more than 3,000 cities, serving more than 50 million students.
ClassPlus has raised about $147 million from large investors such as Tiger Global, Bloom Ventures and Alpha Wave Ventures. The company’s operating income almost quadrupled to Rs 102.04 crore despite a 57 per cent year-on-year growth in net loss to Rs 256.6 crore in FY23.
