The Governor's Conference’s inaugural session will be addressed through the virtual media by both President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The transformational impact of the New Education Policy, NEP 2020 will be discussed by the Prime Minister through video conferencing which was supposed to begin at 10 am today, 7th September 2019. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed at 10:30 am.
Earlier, Prime Minister tweeted, “deliberations from this conference will strengthen the efforts to make India a knowledge hub.”
The Ministry of Education is also organizing a meeting that consists of Governors and Vice-Chancellors of all the educational institutes of India. The conference which will also include the presence of all education ministers of states and various other senior officials is titled "Role of NEP 2020 in transforming higher education".
The Ministry of Education released a statement in this regard that said, "The new National Education Policy strives for making India into an equitable and vibrant knowledge society. It envisions an India-centred education system that contributes directly to transforming India into a global superpower." The ministry further added, "The NEP aims would bring about a paradigm shift in the country's education system and create an enabling and reinvigorated educational ecosystem for a new 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' as envisaged by the prime minister."
