This summit will focus on the inclusion of students with disabilities in higher education. It aims to start a conversation around best inclusive practices and promote collaboration with like-minded institutions that aspire to put inclusion at the forefront of their academic and campus activities. The summit will also offer a platform to discuss avenues for research on accessibility and enhanced participation of qualifying students with disabilities at higher education institutions (HEIs). Prof Anil D Sahasrabudhe (Chairman, AICTE) and Dr Pankaj Mittal (Secretary General, AIU) will deliver the keynote addresses at this summit. It will take place over Zoom and be broadcasted live over YouTube. The summit is being organised in partnership with Changeinkk, I-Stem and Inclusive University Alliance.
This summit is designed to be an event where respective allies will connect and discuss education models founded on the concepts of accessibility and inclusion. It hopes to bring university leaders and relevant stakeholders together to share knowledge and ideas, and make tangible progress towards implementing inclusive practices across all HEIs in India. The sessions will address various tenets of accessibility across physical infrastructure, digital spaces and pedagogy in HEIs with the aim to develop competencies and make students career-ready.
